Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in Collaboration with ITU Conducts GovStack Deep Dive Workshop

This Ministry in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), through the GovStack Initiative organized a Deep Dive workshop on the approach to digital service design and delivery. GovStack is a multistakeholder, community-driven initiative, focused on accelerating national digital transformation worldwide, and drawing on expertise from contributors across the private sector, civil society, and governments all over the world.  The initiative was founded by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Estonia, Germany, and the Digital Impact Alliance at the United Nations Foundation in 2020.

GovStack supports countries and organizations to build cost-effective and efficient digital public services that are easy to scale. Following a “whole-of-government” approach,  GovStack delivers reusable digital services based on generic, interoperable components called “building blocks”; that can form the foundation of a multitude of e-government services.

The purpose of the workshop aims to bring together key stakeholders from various Government Ministries, Departments, private sector and civil society to explore and discuss the requirements, specifications, and implementation of the identified building blocks:

  • ID and Authentication
  • Registration/Registries
  • Reporting & dashboard
  • GIS
  • Payments
  • Consent Management
  • E-Signature
  • E-Marketplace

of the GovStack approach in the context of digital service design and delivery in The Gambia. The GovStack framework, developed in collaboration with the ITU, is designed to enhance the efficiency, security, and accessibility of digital services within government entities.
