The Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy as the name implies has public responsibility for building and maintaining the national communication infrastructure (physical and systemic) to support overall national development.

Our Mission

Gambia with the requisite infrastructure and enabling policy environment that ensures universal, quality and meaningful connectivity that leverages on robust digital technologies and platforms for socio-economic transformation and inclusive development.

Our Vision

To strengthen digital infrastructure and enhance digital policy and regulatory/instruments in order to inspire the proliferation of digital solutions in the economy for improved productivity and outcomes across all sectors

Ministry Strategic Objectives

The Ministry has adopted the following medium-term strategic objectives to help achieve each of the aforementioned RF – NDP Pillar(s)

  • Building a robust and scalable digital infrastructure
  • Strengthening the digital policy and regulatory environment
  • Developing digital government solutions to ease access to public services for the citizenry
  • Putting in place mechanisms and systems that support the growth of e-commerce, e-trade and other digital financial services.
  • To exploit and mainstream digital technologies for enhanced outcomes in health, education, tourism and agriculture sectors.
  • To strengthen Cyber Security policy, regulatory instruments, defense mechanisms and systems.
