Today, Hon. Lamin Jabbie, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, continued his inter-ministerial engagements by visiting the Ministry of Petroleum, Energy, and Mines to explore potential collaboration on digitizing the energy sector. He emphasized that creating a comprehensive energy database, along with a smart grid communication system, will generate revenue and enhance service delivery.
Hon. Nani Juwara, Minister of Petroleum, Energy, and Mines, welcomed the initiative, noting that digitizing the petroleum and energy sectors would add value to the ministry’s daily operations. He highlighted the importance of ICT in effectively advancing the ministry’s agenda.
This initiative reflects The Gambia’s commitment to leveraging digital technologies to improve efficiency and service delivery in the energy sector, contributing to sustainable development and economic growth.
In a similar engagement, Minister Jabbie proceeded to the Ministry of Information, Media, and Broadcasting. Both ministers discussed the importance of data management and governance, and explored areas of collaboration for the effective implementation of their various projects and programs.
These efforts underscore the government’s dedication to fostering inter-ministerial cooperation and embracing digital transformation for national development.
